PRESS RELEASE
Anemoia is an evocative installation that transforms the mundane through a vivid exploration of materials and memory. At the heart of the installation stands a column generously wrapped with pool noodles, which, through the artist’s vision, becomes a portal to a unique experience. Accompanying it are wire-woven sculptures with embedded lights, referencing the architecture of the space and inviting the viewer to reflect on their own life pillars.
Treizman creates a surreal environment that feels both alien and intimately familiar. The interplay of vibrant colors and dynamic lighting fosters a nostalgic atmosphere, evoking memories of childhood and joyful experiences, whether real or imagined. The work evokes a sense of a place grounded in reality yet rooted in the imagination.
Tailored specifically to this location, the installation highlights how the meaning of everyday objects shifts from one place to another. Through her playful use of materials, the artist transforms ordinary items into catalysts for deeper connections and emotions.
*Anemoia n. Nostalgia for a time or place one has never known.
